Masons of the Civil Rights Movement – A Masonic Reflection of Civility and Righteousness
Open Program
An overview of how the role the Craft played in the US Civil Rights Movement by providing leaders with safe spaces for organization, education and leadership development during segregation. Many prominent figures, including Medgar Evers, Thurgood Marshall, A. Philip Randolph and others, were Freemasons who carried Masonic ideals of moral character, civic duty and brotherhood into their public service. Federal will be joined by Officers and brethren from the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Lodges of Hiram No. 4 and Widow’s Son No. 7.
Dinner is served at 6:30pm. The Lodge tiles at 7:30pm.
