Join Federal Lodge No. 1 F.A.A.M. Feb 10th for a special presentation by performers Dan Istrate and Francesca Jandasek! The evening will include a lecture, performance, and participation (for those interested) on tango, life, and love. This program is OPEN for all and significant others are highly encouraged to attend!

About Our Presenters:

Dan

 

Dan Istrate was born in Romania and trained in acting at the University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. As an actor , he has starred in numerous films and TV series in both Romania and United States. In Washington DC he performed for Shakespeare Theatre, Arena Stage, Studio Theatre , Gala Hispanic Theatre and is a company member of Synetic Theatre. Although not formally trained in dance, Dan has collaborated as a performer/director with Bare dances and Sharna Fabiano Tango  company.  He resides in Washington DC.

 

 

 

 

Francesca

 

Francesca Jandasek both performs and teaches dance theater, modern dance, and ballet. She has showcased her movement talent in cooperation with the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and other Washington theaters including Synetic Theater, Propaganda Dance Theater, CityDance Ensemble, Artefacts Dance, BosmaDance, Santi Budaya, Sharna Fabiano Tango Company, Dakshina Dance Company, Deviated Theater, etc. She has collaborated with theTanec Praha dance festival. In 2006, she received a grant from the Commission on the Arts and Humanities in Washington DC. As a choreographer, she was awarded membership in the Millennium Stage Local Dance Commissioning Project 2006 at the Kennedy Center. In 2007, she was nominated as a choreographer for the Metro Dance DC Awards. She is also an accomplished composer and violinist.
